Tech Trends from Web Summit 2025 in Qatar
As the sun begins to rise over the shiny skyline of Qatar's Doha, this get-together of thought leaders is not to be missed as it sheds light on the latest trends in future tech: the Web Summit.
This year’s Web Summit in Qatar is, once again, bringing together some of the brightest minds in tech and innovation in an environment where entrepreneurship takes center stage.

From February 23 to 26, the Web Summit Qatar 2025 overflows the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. With over 25,000 attendees, including 1,500 startups and 600 investors, this event promises to be a melting pot of innovation and networking.
Some of the highlights could make you smile…
Agentic AI
h2o.ai wants to build the world’s best Agentic AI by converging Generative and Predictive AI. You own your data an own your prompts, be it on-premise, airgapped or in a cloud VPC. H2O.ai says it is the only one providing an end-to-end GenAI platform where you own every part of the stack.
Not Your Models, Not Your AI.
Flock.io is developing a private AI training platform that combines federated machine learning with blockchain technology to create a decentralized, privacy-focused AI model training environment.
It allows local training and hosting while ensuring that data stays local. Contributors of crowdsourced data are rewarded. Users can finetune large language models (LLMs), Stable Diffusion, and more, either on their own or with other Flock nodes to lower data requirements. The platform enables fast and compute-saving finetuning through LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation).
Between its AI Marketplace, AI Arena and FL Alliance, decentralized training on federated data (or was it the other way around?) could be the gold mine of the future. It’s somewhat scary, though. Flock.io's platform is dangling on-chain rewards for the contribution of local data.
The Dream Machine
Take for example, the newest AI image generation models from Luma Labs, Luma Photon and Photon Flash. They debut an innovative architecture that delivers ultra-high quality at a fraction of the cost. Move over, OpenAI!

In large-scale double-blind evals, Luma Photon outperforms every model on the market in quality, creativity and understanding while “being radically more efficient”. Luma Labs’ new models max out at 10x the efficiency that became the industry standard.
The Photon family of models have been designed to achieve unique aesthetics that mark the end of the “AI look”.
Luma Photon consistently beats competition in the overall weighted preference scores from pairwise preference evaluations over a set of diverse prompts. Evals and metrics were purpose-fit for creative use cases, and it shows.

Neo4j
Neo4j wants to help you build what others can't for fraud anomaly detection. It also wants to be the world's most-loved graph database. It is being used at Adobe, Cisco, Comcast, UBS and countless others.
The company builds Accurate, Explainable GenAI With GraphRAG so you can get GenAI responses grounded in your real-world data and relationships. GraphRAG combines knowledge graphs with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), enabling you to build GenAI applications that deliver more accurate, relevant, and explainable results, says Neo4j.
Ubicloud
Ubicloud brands itself as the open-source alternative to AWS. Enuf said.

An Explosive Growth Trajectory
Web Summit in Qatar has a lot to offer this year. You can connect with 25.000+ attendees, 166% last year’s numbers. This happens to be two thirds more than expected—and that says a lot!
